Vegas!

Jesus had to go to Vegas last week because of work and I told him that there was no way that he was going to go without me, so I packed up the kids and caught a ride with him.  I'm so glad we did...I needed a vacation!

I generally do not like Vegas at all!  I think that there is a cloud of sin that hovers over the city...there's porn everywhere and that just disgusts me beyond anything!  I wasn't excited to take my k
ids into that, but I figured we could find some fun things to do while their dad was at work.

As you can tell in this first picture, we found Jesusito's favorite cartoon in the whole world...his first word was Spongebob...no, just kidding.:)

We stayed in the Luxor and throughout the whole hotel there were amazing Egyptian statues that were fun for us to see and to pose with.:)

I think my favorite part, though, was the outings that I took with the kids.  The first day we went to the Shark Reef and Jesusito said "wow" more than one can count.  He loved it!  We saw fish and shark, of course, but there was also a huge octopus, star fish, an alligator, a huge lizard...all sorts of things!  It was great!

As many of you know, I absolutely love dolphins!  We were able to go see the dolphins and tigers in the Mirage...I loved it!  The dolphins there aren't trained for shows, but they are trained throughout the day, so you can see them interact with the trainers.  It was really neat!  They have a baby dolphin there and they are currently training him.  I swear, that would be the best job!

We also went and saw the tigers and lions.  What beautiful animals!  They had all sorts of animals there, and of course Jesusito said "wow" more than one can count.  It was fantastic!

I guess I didn't get the whole head in this shot, but it's of a tiger made out of moss of some sort.  It looks like Jesusito is petting the tiger, but he's really pulling out the moss...Oh my!

So, needless to say, I now don't hate Vegas.:)

Inauguration

I watched the inauguration this year! The first time ever! I voted for the other guy, but I am proud of my country for showing the black community that there are a lot of us that don't look at race. The inauguration was very interesting, though, from the crazy opening and closing prayers, the beautiful music that was pre-recorded, and the oops with the actual swearing in moment. I can say that this was my very favorite part of the whole day...

At the end when Beyonce gets all choked up, Jesus asked me why she was crying. I put myself in her shoes...to be a black woman and sing for the first black President. What an honor!

Crawling

When Jesus and I first got married, we bought Daisy the dog.  Daisy was very rambunctious and so much so that she fell off of our two story deck in our apartment.  The poor thing had to go get a cast on her leg.  She would crawl around with her leg out straight to her side.  I share this because my poor daughter crawls like she is a dog with a cast on...
